About CFFIS

Built for This Land.

Conifer Forest, Fire, and Insurance Services is a small crew doing serious work along the 285 corridor — defensible space, technical tree felling, drainage, and the structural hardening that keeps mountain properties insurable.

Our Story

Why We Started

We started CFFIS because the 285 corridor needed a crew that actually understood the terrain — not a landscaping company that added 'fire mitigation' to their website after the insurance crisis hit. This land is steep, dense, and dry. The work requires the right equipment, the right technique, and people who know what they're looking at.

We've watched neighbors lose coverage, get dropped mid-policy, and scramble to find someone who could do the work to NFPA 1144 standard before the deadline. That's the problem we solve. We cut to the standard, document the work, and give property owners what they need to stay insured.

Our service area runs from Bailey and Grant up through Conifer and Pine, across to Evergreen and Bear Creek, and down into the Littleton foothills. We know the communities, the terrain, and the pressure property owners are under.

How We Work

We cut to standard

NFPA 1144 is the benchmark. We don't approximate it — we document it.

We know the terrain

Every job on the 285 corridor is steep, dense, or both. We've worked it all.

We show up with the right equipment

No improvising with the wrong machine. The S450TX goes where others can't.

We leave it clean

Chip, haul, or both — the property is clean when we're done.

Equipment

The Right Equipment for Mountain Terrain

Mountain properties don't forgive the wrong tool. Steep driveways, tight timber, and soft ground require equipment built for it — not adapted from flatland landscaping.

Vermeer S450TX Stand-On Tracked Loader

No cab, low center of gravity, and rubber tracks that grip where tires slip. The S450TX gets into steep driveways and tight timber stands that a standard skid steer can't reach. Multiple attachments — bucket, grapple, auger — for whatever the job requires.

Chainsaw & Felling Equipment

Proper notching, wedging, and back-cut technique for controlled direction of fall. We carry the wedges, felling bars, and rigging to handle hazard trees near structures, leaners, and steep-slope removal safely.

Chipper & Haul Capacity

We chip on-site or haul off — your choice. Large-diameter material gets loaded and hauled. We leave the property clean, not just cut.

Drainage & Excavation Tools

Trenching, grading, and compaction equipment for French drains, swales, and driveway work. We handle the full job from excavation to gravel installation.

Where We Work

Our Territory

We work the 285 corridor and surrounding communities — Bailey, Grant, Shawnee, Conifer, Pine, Evergreen, Bear Creek, and the Littleton foothills. If you're in the mountains west of Denver and south of I-70, we're your crew.
